Confidence. It’s something that a lot of people struggle with.
Some people join Jiu-Jitsu to lose weight, get in shape, meet friends, or protect themselves. Whatever the reason, there is a common result that comes from training in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (or “BJJ”): Confidence.
HOW DOES IT HAPPEN?
No matter what your background – whether you have previous martial arts experience or not – when you start Jiu-Jitsu, you’re likely going to feel like a fish out of water.
It’s normal!
And it’s part of the process of Jiu-Jitsu.
But after some time, just like any skill, you’ll start to get it. And then you’ll practice it. And then you’ll start to get good at it because it’s working!
And then suddenly, you won’t feel like a fish out of water. You’ll be a shark in the ocean.
Now, let’s say your reason for starting Jiu-Jitsu was to get in shape. That, of course, comes with doing Jiu-Jitsu. But how you feel about yourself will skyrocket because you look and feel better PLUS you’re learning a new skill that you’re getting better at PLUS you feel like a beast.
What if your goal was to meet friends? In the right school, one in which helping each other out is encouraged, camaraderie naturally develops. On top of that, you feel great and you feel better capable of protecting yourself. Suddenly, you’re making friends wherever you go.
WIN-WIN-WIN
Increased confidence can work wonders in your life. Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu is an amazing way to develop that confidence.
